New Teacher of the Year

Purpose
To recognize a new Business and Computer Science teacher who has been teaching less than five years but in that short time has demonstrated a strong ability to foster excellence in education as evidenced by on-going contributions to the improvement of student learning and the learning environment; possesses a strong content area expertise and be able to deliver content in a meaningful and engaging manner that is age appropriate; incorporates innovative instructional materials, curriculum or strategies, such as interdisciplinary instruction, project-based learning, research-based programs, or technology to support and enhance instruction; and makes a difference in the lives of students through the Business and Computer Science program. The new teacher of the year nominee should plan to actively continue his/her teaching career.  

Eligibility
Individual GBEA members who are currently employed as full-time classroom teachers in a Business and Computer Science program. Contributions and achievements on which the nomination is based should have been within the past 3-5 years. The nominee also should have been a member of GBEA, GACTE/ACTE for at least the past three consecutive years or each year of teaching.

Complete the form below that will serve as the nominee for Georgia Business Education Association New Teacher of the Year. Once verification of eligibility for award, candidate will be contacted to complete required forms for award.
